Introduction
The Thai-Finnish Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) is dedicated to promoting cooperation between Finland and Thailand by providing a link between the member organizations. The TFCC has a long tradition in promoting contacts and exchange of information between companies involved with Thai-Finnish trade. The TFCC was initially founded as the Thai-Finnish Trade Association in 1988. The organization expanded due to growing demand into a Thai-Finnish Chamber of Commerce in 1992.
Organization
The TFCC is a non-profit organization funded entirely by membership fees together with revenue generated from its own activities. The Chamber is run by a President together with the Board of Directors, all elected by the TFCC members in Annual General Meeting.
Services
The TFCC’s objectives include promoting and developing trade links between Finland and Thailand, being a forum concerning Thai-Finnish cooperation and economic issues, and assisting and developing businesses in both Finland and Thailand e.g. through business seminars & events. It aims to serve its members by providing networking opportunities; conferences and seminars representing expertise from the government, public and private sectors.
Contacts and cooperation
The Chamber works closely with Finnish Embassy in Bangkok, Finland Trade Centre – Finpro and with European Commission to Thailand. The Nordic Chambers of Commerce (Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden) in Bangkok regularly organize joint events for its members. The TFCC has also been an active member of the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) and the Board of Trade of Thailand (BoT) where it represents not just Finland but also Denmark, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden.
